Pryme Technologies Selects FiberLight To Provide Network Backbone

August 27, 2009 - Ashburn, VA - Pryme Technologies has selected FiberLight, LLC, a leading optical network solutions provider, to provide the network backbone for high bandwidth transport from Pryme's new 72,000-square-foot Colocation facility in Ashburn, Virginia, to FiberLight's Ashburn point of presence (POP) at Equinix.

FiberLight's underground fiber optic infrastructure, representing the largest privately owned fiber optic network in the greater Washington, D.C. metro area, is built with full redundancy, making it the logical provider of choice when Pryme began building a new, fully redundant, Tier III data center in Ashburn, Virginia.

"This data center has been specifically designed to meet customer needs for diversity, flexibility, and service, without investing additional capital," said Bart Rogers, Pryme Technologies Vice President of Sales and Business Development. "We feel FiberLight offers secure, reliable and scalable network solutions our customers require. FiberLight's carrier-neutral status will enable us to serve all customers regardless of specific carrier needs."

The fiber optic connection to Pryme's Data Center further solidifies FiberLight's strong footprint in Northern Virginia, while providing Pryme's customers with access options to FiberLight's 400-mile private metro network connecting Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Maryland.

"This partnership opportunity is a win-win for both companies as it allows us to extend our footprint while providing Pryme's customer base with state-of-the-art SONET, Ethernet, Wavelengths, IP and private network solutions in a carrier-neutral environment," said Ben Edmond, FiberLight EVP of Sales and Marketing. "We maintain multiple operational offices in the greater D.C. market including one in Herndon, Virginia and provide 24-by-7 monitoring through two fully redundant NOCs, which gives Pryme customers added security to transport mission-critical data for data storage and applications."
