Transition Networks Launches New Family Of Optical Networking Devices

April 27, 2010 – Transition Networks Inc., a leading provider of fiber access technology, today announced the introduction of the ION Platform, a new family of intelligent optical networking devices designed to drive a new standard in optical networking.

Built to meet the increasing demand of today’s networks, the ION takes manageability and security in optical networking to a new level. Network managers can now take advantage of fiber technology without having to compromise on reliability, scalability or security, and they can do it at a cost savings.

With a multitude of new security features and a robust management framework, the ION offers a path to lower operating expenditures while maintaining valuable capital expenses. At the core of The ION Platform is a 2U 19-inch rack mountable chassis that is designed to house up to 19 slide-in conversion modules along with 2 power supply modules, with all slots being hot-swappable.
